Standing Stone Farms started with a bargain — Glenn wanted to move to Nashville, and I wasn't so sure about leaving Maryland. So we struck a deal: I'd go if I could have dairy goats. He agreed, probably never imagining that two baby goats would turn into a nationally recognized herd, a cheese making school, and a business that would take over all of our lives in the best possible way. He thought I was crazy. But once it started growing, he jumped in with both feet and became one of our biggest supporters. After Glenn passed away in 2019, I made the decision to sell the farm and pour everything into what we'd built together — helping people discover the joy of making cheese at home. The goats are gone, but his spirit is in every kit we ship.
Standing Stone Farms was born from a promise I made to Glenn — my husband of 38 years, my best friend, and honestly the best man I've ever known. I told him the goats would just be a hobby. Something tells me he's still smiling about that.
